分享爱迪森：在不仅冗长地介绍了萨拉希登斯协会的历史, 还介绍了自从泰斯庇斯脱离合唱队以来的表演的历史之后。

Addison: Our distinguished chairman has finally arrived at our reason for being here.
爱迪森：我们著名的主席终于讲到今晚我们为什么齐聚在这儿了。
Aged actor：I have been proud and privileged to have spent my life in the theater, “a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage”.
老年演员：我相当地骄傲地、光荣地把毕生都献给戏剧，“一位为他在舞台上的时光而趾高气扬或满腹牢骚的可怜演员”。
Aged actor：And I’ve been honored to be for 40 years, chief prompter of the Sarah Siddons Society.
老年演员：而我也很荣幸，四十年来一直担任莎拉·希登斯协会主席。
Aged actor：Thirty-Nine times have I placed in deserving hands this highest honor the theater knows.
老年演员：我曾三十九次，将这个戏剧界的最高荣誉--莎拉奖,交到应得的人手中。
Aged actor：Surely no actor is older than I.
老年演员：我肯定是年龄最老的演员。
Aged actor：I’ve earned my place out of the sun......
老年演员：我是在暗地里赢得我的位置的……
(Laughter)

Aged actor：And never before has this Award gone to anyone younger than its recipient tonight.
老年演员：而这个奖项从未被颁给过比今晚的获奖者更年轻的人。
Aged actor：How fitting that it should pass from my hands to hers,
老年演员： 所以这个奖, 理当由我的手传到她的手中!
Aged actor：such young hands, such a young lady.
老年演员：如此年轻的手! 如此年轻的佳丽!
Aged actor：Young in years, but whose heart is as old as the theater...
老年演员：年少的只是她的年龄，但她的心和戏剧的历史一样悠长。
Aged actor：Some of us are privileged to know her.
老年演员：我们当中有人有幸认识她。
Aged actor：We have seen beyond the beauty and artistry that have made her name resound through the nation.
老年演员：我们不单看到了她的美貌和艺术才能——这些使她的名字响彻了全国。
Aged actor：We know her humility，her devotion, her loyalty to her art, her love, her deep and abiding love for us, for what we are and what we do- the Theater.
老年演员：而且还知道了她的谦逊, 她对艺术事业的忠诚，她的爱, 她对我们的深厚而永恒的爱，因为我们的身份和职业——戏剧。
Aged actor：She has had one wish, one prayer, one dream. To belong to us.
老年演员：她一直有一个愿望,一个祈求和一个梦想, 那就是——加入我们的行列。
Aged actor：Tonight her dream has come true,
老年演员：今晚她的梦想实现了，
Aged actor：and henceforth, we shall dream the same of her.
老年演员：而从今以后，她也将成为我们的梦想!
Aged actor：Honored members, ladies and gentlemen, for distinguished achievement in the Theater, the Sarah Siddons Award to Miss Eve Harrington.
老年演员：各位尊敬的会员们、先生们、女士们，戏剧的最高荣誉“莎拉·希登斯奖”将颁给——艾娃·哈林顿小姐。
