As usual, I went to breakfast around 8 am after I got up in the hotel. When I buttoned myself into an elevator and I saw a man was inside , he is a foreign guy and from the lighting number , he was going to the first floor to check out as he also got a big suitcase with him.
“ ni hao” He greeted me in Chinese once I got in.
“ Morning” I smiled back for polite.
“ Good bye.” I got off on the second floor where has the restaurant.
“ Zaijian” He was also very polite.
When I just started to serve myself some food , I saw this guy walking into the restaurant too with his luggage.
“ You did not know the restaurant is on the second floor, did you?” I asked him , when he was standing next to me picking up the food.
“ Yes , I did. But I never take breakfast.” He smiled.
I said nothing.
“ Do you mind we share one table?” He asked .
“ It is fine with me.” I replied.
We sat opposite to each other and started to eat, he only got an egg and a slice of bread on his plate.
He pulled out a card from the pocket and wrote a cell phone number on it , then handed it over to me.
“ I never take breakfast . My flight is at 10 am and I was about to get into the taxi. But I was really attracted by your smile in the elevator. I know it might be very silly as it is only 2 minutes and we do not know each other. Here is my name card with my MSN and telephone number. Can we be friends?”
I smiled again and took over that card and said nothing.
He ate a little bit and stood up to say goodbye as he might really miss the flight.
I have been thinking what he told me about the “ first sight” thing. Dare you ever try to believe somebody from the first sight? Have you ever just followed somebody as he/she smiled at you?

Do you believe in first sight?
