从书中学到的自己以前不知道的英语知识：

get more and more enjoyable  渐入佳境                acme of perfection  绝唱

come into unavoidable confrontation 狭路相逢         vehicles on the same track  一股道上跑的车

get deep-rooted in my memory 烙上了深深的印记        

go off work 打烊

just so-so articles  平庸之作                     

a thankless job 吃力不讨好

take a rush leave  匆匆告别                  

divergent production 发散性思维

tie one's hair on the house beam and jab one's side with a needle to keep oneself awake-painstaking in one's study  头悬梁，锥刺股 

studying at a cold windou-the life of a poor scholor; persevere in one's studies in spite of hardships       寒窗苦读

英语中表示否定的典型例子：

（a) I'm sure. If this is English manners.

我肯定。这确实不是英国的礼仪做法。

(b)He is braver than wise.

他有勇无谋。

(c)He is too ready to speak.

他的话太多了。

(d) Take care how you do so.

千万别这样做。

(e) Some of the programs are interesting. But others could be better.

有些节目很有趣，但是别的节目就不行了。
